California students win 2020 DOE National Science Bowl
A team of students from Dougherty Valley High School in San Ramon, California, won the 2020 DOE National Science Bowl in June. The National Science Bowl, a Jeopardy-like competition for U.S. high school and middle school students, tests their knowledge and academic ability in all areas of science and mathematics.
Back to School Brigade
Sandians donated 250 backpacks and $1,300 toward the purchase of additional school supplies for the annual Back to School Brigade at Kirtland Air Force Base.

Engineers teach Stanford 3D printing students, virtually
Sandia engineers Bradley Jared and Nick Leathe exposed more than a dozen freshman students from a 3D printing class at Stanford University to some of Sandia’s additive-manufacturing capabilities in a May 20 online class.
Research program opens doors for grad students
The DOE Office of Science Graduate Student Research Program is looking for graduate students to take positions at Sandia and change the world with their contributions. Each year, the program supports about 100 doctoral students by funding positions for them within the national laboratories complex.
