3D acoustic and elastic modeling with marmousi2

Three-dimensional (3D) seismic wave propagation is simulated in the newly-developed Marmousi2 elastic model, using both acoustic and elastic finite-difference (FD) algorithms. Although acoustic and elastic ocean-bottom particle velocity seismograms display distinct differences, only subtle variations are discernable in pressure seismograms recorded in the marine water layer.
