Convergence of Emerging Technologies - Spotter Test Results

Bays, Nathan R.; Molina, Diego I.

The SpotterRF CK5 is a low-power draw doppler radar, approximately the size of a book (7” x 9”, see Figure 1). It is intended to provide coverage over short ranges (125 m). The SpotterRF CK5B radar was tested in a two-fence perimeter environment and followed the vendor-recommended configuration (Figure 2), with the exception of rotating the radar 90 degrees about the horizontal axis. The radar is advertised to take approximately 10 minutes to set up.

Convergence of Emerging Technologies - Magos Test Results

Bays, Nathan R.; Molina, Diego I.

The Magos SR-1000 is a ground surveillance radar with an advertised detection range up to 1000 meters for a walker, vehicle, or boat at a low power consumption of 11 Watts. Figure 1 shows the Magos SR-1000 installed at Sandia’s Security Technology Test and Evaluation Center (STEC); testing was performed from May-July 2024. Figure 2 shows a close-up of the device.

Convergence of Emerging Technologies - EAGL Test Information

Bays, Nathan R.; Molina, Diego I.

The Emergency Automatic Gunshot Detection and Lockdown (EAGL) system provides automatic, autonomous, and timely gunshot detection in both indoor and outdoor environments. This system uses both wired and wireless devices. Self-contained wireless EAGL sensors passively “listen” for gunshot events. These devices also perform a single, daily supervisory heartbeat (HB) function to include a device self-check with reporting capability. Transmissions are received by an assigned EAGL Gateway, which translates the RF sensor data to a PoE network format solely for use by the EAGL system server. The server then performs additional processes after data receipt, which include but are not limited to: event validation and logging, GUI presentation, notifications, and other independent operations.

Convergence of Emerging Technologies - Blickfeld Test Results

Bays, Nathan R.; Molina, Diego I.

The Blickfeld Cube 1 Lidar is an inexpensive flash lidar being developed for autonomous navigation with an advertised maximum range of 75 meters that uses a Class 1 eye-safe laser. Figure 1 shows an example of the installation of the Cube 1 lidar and Figure 2 shows an example of the point cloud generated, with the red circle indicating an intruder. The Cube 1 lidar has a software adjustable field of view and as many as 5 lidars can be stitched together. (Figure 2 shows two Cube 1 lidars stitched together.)
