Fully Customizable Surface Electrode Ion Trap Platform

Monolithic and Hybrid Integration of Advanced Technologies

Democratizing Access to State-of-the-Art Quantum Technology Platforms
General Overview
The Quantum Foundry Facility (Q2F) is an innovative initiative launched by Sandia National Laboratories, designed to propel advancements in quantum technology.
This project involves the strategic repurposing of lots within our Microsystems Engineering, Science and Applications (MESA) fabrication facility to democratize access to state-of-the-art quantum technology platforms.
What We Currently Offer
Q2F offers fully customizable surface electrode ion trap platform:
- High optical access “bow-tie” shape
- Backside loading holes
- Through trap loading slots
- Custom top-metal layout
- Hybrid integrated shunt capacitors
- 100 pin CPGA, LGA packages
- 10 mm x 6 mm standard design area
- Low-profile wirebonds to enable optical access
Design Submission is done through a design rule checked (DRC) error-free top metal .gds file hand-off between the customer and a Q2F point of contact. First tapeout launching Spring 2025.
Monolithic and hybrid integration of advanced technologies including:
