The 1500 Explosive Center of Excellence (COE) is responsible for the explosive operations across the VQSEC capabilities. The Arming & Firing (A&F) team specializes in ensuring safe explosive operations across all testing platforms and assembly activities.
The team supports testing facilities by providing compliance safety documentation, COE oversight, and training for non-intentional detonation testing. The team also supports our explosive environments facilities by building explosive charges, building rocket motor sleds, providing fielding of proven fireset configurations, and developing operating procedures to ensure safe operations.
The team has expertise in inventory management of explosives and developing creative ways to provide the environment needed for our testing partners.
