Imaging

At our core, we are an imaging organization. Our team of experts have vast experience imaging across the optical spectrum, as well as imaging the slow to ultra-fast. For much of our work, we only have one chance to get the data. Our experts know how to do it. We work with our customers to understand the critical aspects of each test series, and we design imaging plans that capture every detail of an experiment.

High-Speed Visible Imaging

We have a vast array of high-speed imaging systems that can image up to 10 million frames per second.  We can image at high speed and high resolution in full color, or black and white. Our extensive inventory of high-speed systems allow us to provide complete coverage of events from all angles and all time scales.

Key application areas: rocket sled impacts, drop tests, supersonic tests, explosive tests.

High-Speed Infrared Imaging

Because the visible spectrum is not the whole spectrum, we also offer imaging services at other wavelength bands. We can image at high-speed in the short wave infrared at up to 1,000 frames per second. By fusing high-speed infrared imaging with high-speed visible imaging, we can further advance the information that can be extracted from fast events where complex thermal and mechanical dynamics are in motion.

Key application areas: explosive tests, rocket characterization, thermal testing, failure testing, abnormal environmental testing.

High-Speed Multi-Spectral Imaging

We also offer unique high-speed, multi-special imaging capabilities. Utilizing both computational imaging and a unique high-speed imaging array system, we can simultaneously image multiple narrow band signals up to 100,000 frames per second. Our custom analytics can then render and visualize the spectral data to illuminate hidden characteristics of your test.

Key application areas: explosive research, ignition research, rocket launches.

Wavefront Imaging

Because we support such a wide variety of tests where seeing the invisible is critical, we have developed multiple ways to image wavefronts from explosion, impulses, and shockwaves to support different test constraints. Wavefront imaging enables seeing gas dynamics driven by temperature gradients, index of refraction changes, and density changes. Utilizing methods such as synthetic Schlieren imaging (natural or artificial backgrounds) or computational imaging, we can offer this service at significantly less cost than traditional methods. Moreover, these methods impose less constraints on experimental setup than traditional techniques.

Key application areas: blast tube testing, shockwave environments, ballistic testing.

Real-Time Visible Infrared Imaging, and Documentary Imaging

Our advanced imaging capabilities help you see far beyond what any human can see or sense. But it’s also critical to capture a test event at the human time scale so our customers can better communicate how a test works. Just as critical is documentary imaging. Our team works to capture both the scientific and documentary sides of an experiment and we deliver a final product that helps our customers communicate the work they do.
