Sandia mechanical engineer Bo Song has been recognized as a 2020 Asian American Engineer of the Year by the DiscoverE Engineering Program, which honors outstanding Asian American professionals in science and engineering for their technical achievements, leadership and public service.

SASE honors Sandia and Tian Ma at annual awards
The Society of Asian Scientists and Engineers named Sandia its 2020 Organization of the Year in the government category and honored Sandia computer scientist Tian Ma with the 2020 Professional Achievement Award at its virtual national conference in October.
Hispanic Heritage Month
Sandia’s celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month went mostly virtual this year, with video presentations and other digital events, including youth art contests, honoring HENAAC winners, sharing a booklet of recipes, sayings and wisdom and more. The car show was the only live event, but not the only celebration.
‘Iconic’ researcher wins Indigenous Excellence Award
Sandia engineer Sandra Begay has earned the AISES 2020 Indigenous Excellence Award in recognition of her substantial work to advance opportunities for Indigenous students and professionals in science, technology, engineering and math education and careers.
