
April 29, 2026 | The CMC welcomed Muhammad Faisal, a foreign policy analyst and PhD candidate at the University of Technology Sydney, to present his research on the implications of a collapse of the Iranian regime in Pakistan. A full overview on his research can be found here.
Muhammad Faisal researches Pakistan’s foreign policy decision-making amid intensifying great-power competition across South Asia and the Indian Ocean region. He is an alumnus of Sandia National Labs, having been a Visiting Scholar at the Cooperative Monitoring Center in 2015 and a Fellow in 2022, when he led a research project examining Pakistan’s western border security posture and capacities.
Previously, he was a Research Fellow at the Institute of Strategic Studies Islamabad for nearly seven years, and a Visiting Fellow at the Stimson Center in Washington, D.C.
