Monte Mallin

Monte Mallin is on detail from the Department of Energy, where is the policy advisor for strategic planning for the office of Nonproliferation and International Security. Mr. Mallin has led a number of long-range planning projects that are influencing how NNSA plans for evolving threats, risks, and challenges.

Currently, he is leading a series of regional opportunity analyses to help align NNSA resources to meet evolving trends of concern within critical regions. Mr. Mallin was also the DOE representative to the congressionally established Graham Commission that looked at evolving nonproliferation and nuclear security threats.

Prior to joining DOE, Mr. Mallin served for seven years at the Department of State where he was a special advisor to the Undersecretary. At State, he supported Comprehensive Test Ban Treaty (CTBT) and Fissile Material Cutoff Treaty (FMCT) negotiations, playing a critical role in developing the managed
access provisions in the CTBT.
