Over one-hundred thirty attendees from research organizations, government agencies, manufacturers, utilities, and first responders met in Albuquerque, NM, for the tenth annual Energy Storage Systems Safety & Reliability Forum. Sponsored by the Office of Electricity Energy Storage Division, the event offered battery safety tutorials, panel sessions, and technical posters. Speakers remarked on the sharp rise of battery energy storage deployments and continued urgency of systems’ safety and reliability. Panels shared recent lessons and research from across public and private sectors.
Energy storage system safety and reliability includes the safe and reliable design, installation, operation, incident response, and decommissioning of energy storage systems. Organized by a collaboration between Sandia National Laboratories and the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory, the forum provides a critical platform to connect key stakeholders and advance contributions to the field.
