Relay is a community event that brings millions of people together each year to raise money to help end cancer and save lives. Teams of people camp out for the 16-hour event and take turns walking around a track throughout the night. Cancer never sleeps so for one night neither will we. We honor cancer survivors and their caregivers during the opening ceremony and the Survivor’s victory lap. The Luminaria Ceremony lets us honor those who have survived cancer and those who have sadly lost the fight by bearing the names of each affected. Each person who participates in Relay can take pride in the fact that they are working to create a world with more birthdays and no cancer!
