Access to Kirtland Air Force Base:
If you do possess a DOE HSPD-12 credential, you must register in a KAFB DBIDS office, information below. If you do not possess a DOE HSPD-12 badge, we will add you to an Entry Access List for the week of the meeting. DBIDS is not required for visitors on the Entry Access List. When you arrive, you must provide a valid form of ID, Vehicle Registration, and proof of Insurance to get onto KAFB. Please bring one of the Acceptable Forms of Identification.
For visitors who hold an active Department of Defense (DoD) clearance that can be verified in the Defense Information Security System (DISS), their security office may submit a visit notification to SNL directly through DISS (use Cage code 14213 for all SNL locations) in lieu of DOE F 5631.20. Use of DISS is allowed with the following conditions:
For access to RD, “CNWDI” must be reflected in DISS.
DISS request must include the date(s) of visit, technical POC (i.e., the SNL visit host), and purpose.
Interim DoD clearances are not accepted.
KAFB DBIDS
At the time of visit to a DBIDS office (called visitor centers – see below for locations and hours of operation), the following must also be provided:
- Driver’s License
- Registration
- Proof of Insurance
- (If the vehicle is a rental car) Rental agreement or receipt
Note: You can verify whether your HSPD-12 federal credential is registered in DBIDS by visiting a DBIDS office. DBIDS is an Air Force requirement and status of DBIDS registration cannot be checked at the SNL Badge Office (1st floor of IPOC).

For the Truman Visitor Center, stay in the right lane, and exit prior to the gate. You will see a sign for Visitor Center. You can register your credential for DBIDS inside.
