Biography
Lance Hutchinson serves as Senior Manager of the Advanced Solutions Engineering group within the Cybersecurity and Mission Computing Center at Sandia National Laboratories. The Advanced Solutions Engineering group provides Sandia critical capabilities in applied computer science and cybersecurity research and development across multiple program areas. He also serves as Senior Manager for the Digital Assurance for High-Consequence Systems (DAHCS) Mission Campaign, a 7-year targeted Laboratory Directed Research & Development (LDRD) investment area seeking to create new tools and methods that lead to measurable digital assurance of high-consequence systems, ultimately enabling decision-makers to make confident, evidence-based system trade-offs that consider mission risk from current and future digital threats.
Previous management roles include program leadership within the Space Mission Engineering Program Office, partnering with multiple external sponsors to advance the national capability in space domain awareness and space control missions, and providing full-stack computing solutions for deployed operational capabilities in support of the national security mission.
Lance joined Sandia in 2009 as a computer engineer and technical contributor to several satellite, aerospace, and cyber-physical systems departments. He holds a bachelor’s degree in computer engineering from the University of Nevada, Reno and a master’s degree in electrical and computer engineering from the University of Florida.
