Biography
As Director of the Radio Frequency (RF) and Electronic Systems Center, Chris Eiting leads an organization that develops advanced electronic system solutions across a variety of national security missions, including intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance; guidance, navigation, command & control, and fuzing for conventional and nuclear weapons; special communications, electronic warfare, and space. Chris also has programmatic management responsibility for the Surveillance and Reconnaissance program portfolio within Sandia’s National Security Programs Division that provides advanced defense, deterrent and intelligence technology, and analysis to strengthen our nation’s defenders.
Prior to joining the RF and Electronics Center, Chris supported Sandia’s Nuclear Deterrence mission in a variety of roles, including Manager of Technical Basis for the nuclear deterrent program, where he oversaw the execution of all system-level qualification tests. Chris’ career prior to Sandia included engineering and leadership positions within the semiconductor industry at Advanced Micro Devices, Air Force Research Laboratory, Uniroyal Optoelectronics, and Qynergy Corporation.
He holds a B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the University of
Texas at Austin, specializing in semiconductor materials and devices.
