Isotope Crossroads Oklahoma City is a Radiological Transportation Security Tabletop Exercise (TTX) sponsored by the Department of Energy (DOE)/National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA)/Office of Radiological Security (ORS) and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Weapons of Mass Destruction Operations Section/CBRN Countermeasures Unit.
The purpose of the TTX is to promote information sharing, joint situational awareness, team building, and problem resolution in a crisis response situation with Federal, State, and Local law enforcement and emergency response personnel, regulatory agencies, transportation companies, and radioactive material production companies among others when dealing with a Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD) incident scenario involving Category 1 and 2 radioactive materials in commercial transit. Radioactive materials and transportation routes through the Oklahoma City Area of Responsibility (AOR), transportation companies, incident response procedures, and crisis communications will be discussed during this one-day, no-fault, discussion-based exercise.
