Mongolia I-RSAR Workshop (International – Radiological Security Awareness Response)

Course Goal:

The goal of the I-RSAR Workshop is to enhance the ability of law enforcement and first responders to prevent, interdict, and respond to the attempted or actual theft of radioactive materials. The workshop strengthens tactical decision-making and operational coordination in the presence of radiological hazards, improves rapid and effective response actions, and supports agencies in applying practical strategies to protect public safety and national security.

Group Size and Target Audience

The recommended course size is 30 participants, with the primary target audience for this course being law enforcement agencies representing federal, regional, and local jurisdictions. Secondary participants may include first responders and other agencies involved in protection and response to incidents involving the attempted or actual theft of radioactive materials.

Prerequisites

Participants selected to attend this workshop should have responsibilities related to radiological security and/or be law enforcement officers or first responders. A basic understanding of radiation protection principles and practices is beneficial.

Structure

The course is comprised of modules that are delivered using lecture, discussion, demonstration, and practical/scenario-based exercise.

I-RSAR is a 3-day course, with each day consisting of approximately 8 hours. ORS will provide travel, lodging, and per diem to assist with your participation at this training, per government regulations.
