Career Opportunities

Sandia’s Center for Computing Research is always looking for outstanding scientists and engineers across a broad spectrum of disciplines. We hire mathematicians, computer scientists, data scientists, computational scientists, cognitive scientists, and many additional disciplines as evidenced by the scope of our web pages. We primarily (but not exclusively) hire PhDs. We offer competitive salaries and benefits, internationally-renowned peers, outstanding research resources, and a work environment that is highly collaborative and interdisciplinary. We interact extensively with academia and other government and industrial research laboratories. We work on problems of high impact to the nation and the world. Most of our hires are U.S. citizens, but we can make exceptions for particularly outstanding candidates.

If this sounds like an environment in which you would thrive, you can access Sandia’s Careers page to look for current opportunities. Even if you don’t find an appropriate posting, we might be interested in considering you, so feel free to contact a staff member or manager whose research interests align with your own.

We also have an extensive summer internship program for graduate and advanced undergraduate students. These positions fill quickly, so you should approach a potential summer mentor by January at the latest.
