Advanced Manufacturing is revolutionizing the design and production of hardware essential for complex missions. Advanced Manufacturing capabilities enable the fabrication of designs that were previously unrealizable, creating new design opportunities for greater performance built by expanded material sets, while still delivering product faster by utilizing advances in automation and machine learning. By utilizing fewer parts and a more flexible supply chain, this innovative approach accelerates the delivery of national security priorities, ultimately benefiting the average person through enhanced safety and security.
During the CAMINO event, Sandia’s Center for Advanced Manufacturing and Innovation will unveil its Development Road advanced manufacturing research and development center. This state-of-the-art facility will serve as a central hub for Sandia missions, enabling the realization of new products and the processes required to create them. Located just outside the Kirtland Air Force Base fence line in the Sandia Science and Technology Park, the facility will foster collaboration between industry, universities, and Sandia mission teams.
