NSC MBE Maturity Index Issue C

NSE MBE Maturity Index (UUR), Issue C.0
This document contains the results from the NSE’s MBIT, MBE Committee’s MBE Maturity Index task group. The NSE MBE Maturity Index is a rubric-like tool that an organization uses to assess itself as, and facilitate transition to, a Model-Based Enterprise (MBE).

  • The intent of this index is to allow an organization to assess their MBE maturity and to identify distinctive steps along their MBE implementation journey. In other words, it identifies the gap from where you are to where you want to be.
  • The index provides a common point of reference for MBE communication.  It establishes a common context and a common language: the MBE lexicon.
  • Through broad categories of activities, topics within a category, and facets of a topic, this tool shows a progression towards becoming more digital, better integrated, and more automated.
  • The index is designed to allow an organization to identify different levels of maturity for each of the categories, topics, and facets at three different as-is ratings (i.e., capability, readiness, and adoption).
  • Results from this assessment will allow your organization to tailor an MBE roadmap of where you want your organization to be in some future state. Then this roadmap can be used to develop an MBE implementation plan.
