NFPA 1 Fire Code Prepares for On-Site Meetings of its Three Technical Committees

The recently released 2024 edition of NFPA 1 Fire Code is now available in print or via access to the NFPA  Link© at www.nfpa.org/1 (see the two large red button on the web page).  NFPA 1, Fire Code, advances fire and life safety for the public and first responders as well as property protection by providing a comprehensive, integrated approach to fire code regulation and hazard management and is part of the regulatory requirements in eight states and referenced in several others.  Chapter 52 deals with energy storage system installations and fundamentally aligns with NFPA 855, Standard for the Installation of Stationary Energy Storage Systems.

Three Technical Committees (TC) support updates and revisions to next editions of the code. They will hold their “First Pre-Draft Meeting” to consider Public Inputs for the 2027 edition at the Holiday Inn Orlando Disney Springs Area, Orlando FL, June 24-27, 2024.

The three TCs are [1] Fundamentals of the Fire Code (FCC-FUN), [2] Special Equipment, Processes and Hazardous Materials (FCC-HAZ), and [3] Building Systems and Special Occupancies (FCC-OCP).  For meeting information, scroll down to the area entitled ‘First Draft Committee Information’ on the Next Edition Tab.
