Grid Modernization Initiative 2017 Peer Review

April 18 @ 12:00 am - 11:59 pm (MST)
Location: Sheraton Pentagon City Hotel 900 South Orme Street Arlington 22204
The U.S. Dept. of Energy's Grid Modernization Initiative (GMI) will host the 2017 Peer Review on April 18-21, 2017, at the Sheraton Pentagon City Hotel in Arlington, VA. The Peer Review will be open to the public, providing a discussion of the current state of technology and network with energy sector stakeholders. A portfolio of more than 80 grid modernization projects across 13 programs will be reviewed. The review will examine the projects at a program level, provide lessons learned, and share best practices. Twenty-nine foundational projects will be peer reviewed by industry leaders. At the dedicated poster session, attendees can learn about the other projects in the portfolio. All GMI activities are guided by the Grid Modernization Multi-Year Program Plan (MYPP), which describes a portfolio of activities to set the nation on a cost-effective path to a resilient, secure, sustainable, and reliable grid that is flexible enough to provide an array of emerging services while remaining affordable to consumers. The MYPP describes the RD&D activities that the Department will focus on over the next four years, including opportunities for public-private partnerships. The following is the tentative agenda for the GMI 2017 Peer Review: April 18
