National Diagnostics Working Group 2022

The Z machine is located in Albuquerque, N.M., and is part of the Pulsed Power Program, which started at Sandia National Laboratories back in the 1960s. Meeting Overview

This year the National Diagnostics Working Group (NDWG) will be hosted by Sandia National Laboratories in Albuquerque, New Mexico (USA).    The meeting will take place over three days December 13, 14, and 15th, 2022

Important considerations for this year’s meeting:

  • All speakers must attend in-person. 
  • The talks (open sessions) will be broadcasted via Skype and will allow live questioning of the speaker.
  • The breakout sessions will be in-person with no virtual component.
  • Badging
    • General badging instructions will be e-mailed to registered participants.
    • For non-US citizens please register as soon as possible and no later than September 30th so we can begin the badging process.  See the registration link below.
  • Day 3 (Dec. 15th) will be a closed session and only accessible to those with a DOE clearance.  For this session we will move to a new location that is inside the gate in Tech Area I in building 810. 

Background

The NDWG is a group of technical experts responsible for identifying and prioritizing the development of transformational diagnostics to support the NNSA’s High Energy Density (HED) experimental facilities: the National Ignition Facility, Z-machine, and Omega/OmegaEP.   The purpose of the annual meeting is to provide updates to the broader diagnostic community and to further identify future needs through focused discussion groups.

Registration is now closed.

For US-citizens, the registration deadline is November 18, 2022.

All non-US citizens must register by September 30, 2022.

NOTE: Registration for in-person attendance for non US-citizens is now CLOSED.  Virtual-only registration remains available until November 18th.

The main meeting site for Day 1 and 2 will be located at the Center for Global Security and Cooperation (10600 Research Rd SE, Albuquerque, NM 87123).  This building is located near the badge office and just outside the Eubank gate. As mentioned above, the meeting location will change on Day 3 for the closed session.
