Sandia/California Interviewees

  • Before your interview

Congratulations! You’ve made it to the interview. Here is some information you need to know prior to your interview. We look forward to meeting with you!

    1. Learn about Sandia.

    2. If you are presenting, follow these steps:

    • Preferred Method: Email the presentation to the hosting manager and contact person prior to your interview. They will prepare the presentation on a computer and projector for you.

    • Alternate Method: If you wish to bring your personal laptop computer or computer media, please coordinate this activity with the hosting manager and contact person in order to obtain required authorization prior to your visit.

    3. If you will be traveling from out-of-town:

Sandia's travel provider, TRC Global Mobility, will be contacting you to counsel and coordinate all aspects of travel and expenses in relations to your interview. For questions regarding your travel, lodging, meals and expense reimbursements, please contact TRC Global Mobility at 1-800-783-5337.

    4. Prepare before your interview.

Make sure you get a good night's rest, a healthy breakfast, come with questions, and bring your game!

  • Interview day

    1. Review directions to Sandia/California.*

*Important Note: If you enter "Sandia National Labs" in your GPS, it will direct you to the incorrect side of the lab where a badge is required for entrance. Please use the link above and the map to the badge office (Step 2) to direct you to the correct side of the lab.

    2. Review map to the badge office.

    3. Obtain your badge.

    • You will be required to obtain a temporary badge at the Visitor Badge Kiosk. Please be prepared to present a photo ID to the security personnel in order to receive your temporary visitor badge.

      Sandia National Laboratories (see map)
      Thunderbird Ln
      Livermore, CA 94550
The Badge Office opens at 7:15 a.m. each day.

Please note our badge office is not accessible via public transportation. If you were planning to travel to Sandia via public transportation (i.e., bus system), please work with your host to make alternative transportation arrangements. We apologize for the inconvenience.

Important: Sandia National Laboratories requires visitors to present government-issued identification for access to its facilities.  State-issued driver’s licenses or ID cards from REAL ID non-compliant states will only be accepted to obtain a badge for access to Sandia if accompanied by an alternate form of ID such as a Social Security Card or a birth certificate. If your driver's license states "Federal Limits Apply" or "Not for Federal Identification" (or different variations per state), you will need to bring an alternate form of ID from the options above. A current U.S. passport may be used as an acceptable form of ID.

    • Visitor parking is available immediately in front of the new Visitor Badge Office. If there are no visitor spaces available, feel free to park in any non-restricted parking area.

    • It is highly recommended for you to wear comfortable shoes as Sandia is a large campus and your interview may involve walking to several locations around the site.

    • If your interview schedule extends from the morning through the afternoon, your hosting department will make arrangements for lunch.

    • Non-US citizens must present their passport and current immigration status documents for identification purposes. Immigration status documents include your visa, I-94 card, I-797 notice of approval, I-20, or other documents verifying that you are lawfully present in the United States. If you have questions about what documents to bring, please contact Jessica Matto at (925) 294-3853 or jmatto@sandia.gov. Unfortunately, Sandia cannot provide site access without verification of your lawful status documents.
  • After your interview

    1. Keep in contact with your hiring manager.

The process may take several weeks. Please keep in contact with your hiring manager.

    2. Submit expenses for travel, if applicable.

If you traveled from out-of-town for your interview, please submit your expenses to TRC Global Mobility at 1-800-783-5337.

If you have other questions, please contact your staffing representative listed in your interview invitation email message.
