11. Transfers
It is sometimes desirable to chain two or more analyses (procedures) together. A common example of this is the need to preload an assembly quasi-statically, then subject that assembly to a loading environment best suited to an explicit transient dynamics analysis. The displacements and stresses produced by the quasistatic preload become initial conditions for the transient dynamics event. These displacements and stresses must therefore be transferred from the initial to the subsequent analysis.
This chapter reviews the concept of transfers in SIERRA and outlines the syntax required to perform a transfer of information between procedures.
