CTH is a continuously improving code base. Numerous novel input/output options are being added on a routine basis and environments including contextually aware editors and real-time diatom geometry previewing through tools like the Sandia Analysis Workbench (SAW) and other stand alone editors are fundamentally shifting the way analysts interact with the software. The training program is being retooled/modernized to include these and other exciting new features as well as to provide an online training option for those wishing to get a head start (or refresher) on using the code.

Some of the expected course topics are: CTH theory, problem generation and setup (including preproccesing with aprepro), basic equation of state and constitutive properties, programmed burn, explosive detonation, tracer points, running on parallel computers, boundary conditions, fracture, post-processing, an introduction to Adaptive Mesh Refinement (AMR) SAW project and CTH functionality, advanced input and output options (image stack/dicom import, CAD-to-poly-surface import, tracer regions, fragments, tet surfaces).
