March 1, 2016 - UPDATE: Sandia/KAFB access and the REAL ID Act

***Announcement***

Effective on Jan. 11, state-issued driver’s licenses or ID cards from non-compliant states will be accepted to obtain a badge for access to Sandia if accompanied by an alternate form of ID such as a Social Security Card or a birth certificate. Note that DHS has granted an extension to New Mexico through October 10, 2016. This allows the use of New Mexico driver’s licenses and ID cards, by themselves, to verify identity when obtaining a badge. See the REAL ID Act article for more details. KAFB access policy, including impacts to the DBIDS process, remains unchanged.
