LTP diagnostics typically have demanding spatial and temporal resolution requirements for resolving phenomena of interest. Spectroscopy offers an approach that satisfies these requirements using pulsed laser sources and high-speed photodetectors. Brian Bentz has extensive experience with these techniques and measuring electron densities and temperatures in various plasma systems. Brian’s background in image and signal processing offers unique insights into parameter estimation from experimental data.
Research Interests
Spectroscopic imaging of laser-excited plasma species for densities and temperatures.
