Biography
Patrick Griffin is a Laboratory Fellow at Sandia National Laboratories in the Advanced Science and Technology Division, Org. 1000. Dr. Griffin earned a Ph.D. in nuclear physics from Ohio University in 1979. Over the past 40 years, he has been involved in radiation modeling, neutron effects testing, radiation dosimetry, and radiation damage to materials.
He has receiving numerous team and individual awards, including the CY15 NNSA Defense Award of Excellence, the NNSA Individual Award of Excellence in 2007, the DOE Award of Excellence in 1999, the Peter Hedgecock Award in 2002 for Outstanding Service to ASTM, named an ASTM Fellow (Award of Merit) in 2011, the 2020 Pete Haas Award from the Hardened Electronics and Radiation Technology (HEART) Society, and a lifetime appointment as National Associate of the National Academies in 2001. Pat has served as the U.S. representative for several IAEA-sponsored international Cooperative Research Projects. He is the current Sandia Editor for the Defense Research Review.
