NM Sitzmarkers Ski & Social Club

Looking for like-minded people to go skiing with at areas in northern New Mexico and southwestern Colorado?Sounds like you might be looking for the NM Sitzmarkers Ski & Social Club.

We don’t just ski; we have other activities year-round to keep us off the streets. We are a non-profit club run by volunteers, and price our activities as close to the bone as possible to attract more participants.

Past trips to ski areas have included Wolf Creek, Purgatory, Telluride, Crested Butte and Steamboat Springs. Most are two- or three-day trips, depending on the distance. Prices include transportation (via bus if justified by the number of participants, otherwise via car-pooling), hotel accommodations and lift tickets.

We welcome Alpine and cross-country skiers, snowboarders and snowshoers. Trip schedules and pricing are usually posted in late summer or fall.

Member dues are $25/year for singles and $40/year for couples residing at the same street address. As an added inducement, Sandia employees, contractors and others affiliated with the Labs, as well as their spouses, will receive their first year’s membership free, upon submission of a valid “sandia.gov” e-mail address.

Ski Lift Tickets

Where did all the lift ticket discounts go?

Many resorts now operate with dynamic pricing. Because of this, most are unable to offer a discount as prices are constantly changing. SERP features deals as they become available, but our best advice is to buy your tickets in advance. Employees and their dependents can also join one of the subsidized group activities available from the Sandia Snowriders group.

Zia Skiers

Zia Skiers is a local Albuquerque winter sports group offering discounted ski/snowboard trips to northern New Mexico and southern Colorado resorts. Some trips include transportation. Alpine skiers, snowboarders, snowshoers, and cross-country skiers are welcome.

The $15 annual membership fee is waived for new Sandia members and their spouses.
