What you need to know

When to Work with the ITC

When planning a business-related international trip, the ITC can support you with the following services and support:

  • A health risk readout for the country to which you’ll be traveling
  • Required and recommended immunizations
  • Tuberculosis surveillance (TB skin tests)
  • Counseling to minimize the risk of disease
  • Malaria chemoprophylaxis, if appropriate for your destination country
  • Medication packs with supplies to treat common illnesses associated with the country to which you’ll be traveling
  • An International SOS (ISOS) card for worldwide emergency assistance
  • Compliance with national and state reporting requirements and continued monitoring of your health status upon return to the U.S. (for example, monitoring for Ebola symptoms)

Be sure to notify the ITC at least six to eight weeks before you begin business-related international travel. Some preventive vaccines must be completed early for full effect.

Also, a satellite office is located in the international programs building on Tuesdays (8 a.m. to 12 p.m.) and Thursdays (1 p.m. to 4 p.m.).
