A linear mechanical strain due to a temperature change from reference temperature.

$\sigma_{xx} = \sigma_{yy} = \sigma_{zz} = \-beta(T-T_{ref})$

where $\beta$ is a thermal expansion coefficient and $T_{ref}$ is some reference temperature. Alternatively, beta can also be specified as a model in the material
