The Carmen-Kozeny model for permeability. \kappa = \frac{1}{2 \tau^2 S_v^2}\frac{\phi^3}{(1-\phi)^2}, where S_v is the surface-to-volume ratio. This form is from B.R. Corrochano et al. Journal of Food Engineering 150 (2015) 106-116 and reduces to the traditional form if S_v = 6/d and \tau = \sqrt(2.5).
