Summary

Provides the mass term for the mass balance equation where bulk mass density is computed from density, saturation and porosity for a multiphase porous material.

Description

For species i and phase p, this model provides the bulk mass density and its temporal derivative resulting in the mass term

\dfrac{\partial \phi S_p \rho_{i, p}}{\partial t},

where \phi is the porosity, S_p is the phase saturation, and \rho_{i, p} is the species density in the given phase. If no species is set, this is applied to the general property.

Note this model assumes the pore volume is occupied by multiple phases (e.g., liquid / gas) in accordance to the specified phase saturations. The phase saturation must be provided, it is not optional. This model is not applicable to the solid phase.
