Summary

Provides the mass term for the mass balance equation where bulk mass density is computed from mass fraction and density.

Description

For species $i$ , this model provides the bulk mass density and its temporal derivative resulting in the mass term

$\dfrac{\partial Y_{i,s} \rho_s}{\partial t},$

where $Y_{i,s}$ is the species mass fraction in the solid phase and $\rho_s$ is the solid density. Note that this model is only applicable to the solid phase (or no material phase) and requires specifying the species. The bulk mass density is per total volume and not per phase volume.
