Description

Residual saturations for liquid and gas are S_{lr} and S_{gr}.

Hence the maximum possible liquid saturation is S_{lm} = 1 - S_{gr} and the effective saturation is S_{e} = (S_{l}-S_{lr}) / (S_{lm}-S_{lr}) where S_{l} is the wetting phase saturation. The pore size distribution index for the media is \lambda.

Using a cutoff saturation S_{ec}=0.01 and if S_{e} < S_{ec} let {S}_{e} = S_{ec}. The capillary pressure is evaluated as p_{c} = p_{e} {S}_{e}^{-1/\lambda} where p_{e} is the entry pressure.
