Negotiators had another busy day as Sandia and the OPEIU continued virtual discussions on several articles in the bargaining agreement. During the first two days of negotiations, the Labs has offered proposals and counterproposals on more than 30 articles, and OPEIU has offered about 20 proposals and counterproposals, according to Sandia’s accounting. That leaves less than 10 contract articles to begin discussing. Sandia offered to meet virtually Friday or next week, but at this time OPEIU negotiators declined to meet before the next agreed-upon date of Aug. 31. With many issues up for discussion, Sandia remains ready to continue bargaining at any time.
