Ruud A. Haring

Ruud A. Haring, IBM Thomas J. Watson Research Center, P.O. Box 218, Yorktown Heights, New York 10598 (ruud@us.ibm.com) received B.S., M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Physics from Leyden University (The Netherlands). Since 1984 Dr. Haring has been a research staff member at the IBM Thomas. J. Watson Research Center, initially studying surface science aspects of plasma processing. Since 1992 he has been involved in electronic circuit design on both microprocessors and ASICs. He is currently responsible for the Synthesis, Physical Design and Test aspects of the BlueGene chip designs, as well as for Functional Diagnostics of BlueGene cards and systems. He has received IBM Outstanding Technical Achievement Awards for contributions to the z900 mainframe and to the BlueGene Supercomputer, and holds several patents. Dr. Haring’s research interests include circuit design and optimization, design for testability and ASIC design. He is a senior member of the IEEE.
