Leonid Oliker

Leonid Oliker is a computer scientist in the Future Technologies Group of the Computational Research Division at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (LBNL). In 1991, he received a B.S.E. in computer engineering from the University of Pennsylvania and a B.S. in finance from the Wharton School of Business. In 1998, he received his Ph.D. in computer science from the University of Colorado. Since then, he has held positions as a visiting researcher and a postdoctoral scientist at the Research Institute for Advanced Computer Science (RIACS) at NASA Ames Research Center, and as a postdoctoral fellow in the Scientific Computing Group at LBNL. Dr. Oliker has published over 30 technical papers in the area of high-performance computing. His research interests include the study of irregular algorithms on advanced parallel systems, performance evaluation of emerging architectures, and job scheduling for grid computing. He received the Best Paper Award at SC99 and the Best Student Paper Award at SC2000 for his studies on adaptive algorithms.
