The Arsenic Water Technology Partnership organized two activities related to implementation of the new standard for arsenic in drinking water. A technical theme session and a vendors forum was held at the 2003 New Mexico Environmental Health Conference.
Technology vendors, community stakeholders, researchers and regulators participated in a half-day theme session (October 21, 2003) on the status of technology demonstration programs designed to develop and verify cost effective methods to remove arsenic from drinking water sources.
The theme session was followed by a day-long workshop (October 22, 2003) which provided an opportunity for vendors of innovative treatment technologies to describe project histories that demonstrate the effectiveness of their products. Technologies were evaluated for possible use in pilot demonstrations to be conducted at three community sites in 2004. |
