Conference Topics

The conference covers a wide range of topics related to the behavior of helium in materials. These topics include but are not limited to:

  • Theoretical models of helium transport in materials.
  • Theoretical models of helium bubble nucleation and growth in materials.
  • Theoretical models of material fracture due to helium bubbles.
  • First-Principles calculations of helium site energies, diffusion barriers, and helium bubble nucleation.
  • Material structural properties that impact the behavior of helium in materials.
  • Non-structural related material properties that impact the behavior of helium in materials. These may include the optical, mechanical, and electrical properties of materials
  • Surface/interfacial phenomena that impact helium in materials or other important material properties.
  • Hydriding and/or metal hydride properties that may impact helium in materials.
  • The amount of helium retained or released from materials.
  • Aging effects due to helium in the material.
  • Processing conditions and parameters that may impact helium in materials. These may include thin film processing parameters for thin film metal tritides, grain sizes and processing impact on tritided powders, steel and weldment processing on tritium containment vessels, fusion first wall processing, etc.

Both experimental and theoretical studies are encouraged. If you think there are other topics would be of interest to the Conference, please contact the Conference Organizers.
