Tues. Oct. 26, 1999 Escape to Santa Fe! 9AM-5PM $29.00 We will head up the Turquoise Trail through old ghost towns and mining towns. We will stop in the quaint town of Madrid. Then it is on to Santa Fe, "The City Different". After an orientation drive our guide will leave us at the Plaza with a map in our hand after they have pointed out historic churches, shops, museums and restaurants. Time for lunch on own. Reboard coach at 3:45 for the drive back to Albuquerque. Time is Madrid 1 hour, time on own in Santa Fe approx. Noon - 3:45 PM.
Thurs. Oct. 28, 1999 Acoma Indian Pueblo 9AM-4 PM $39.00 Includes: Transportation, tour guide, admission to Acoma Pueblo, sack lunch. Photography permit $10 extra (to be paid on day of tour) Once we arrive we will transfer from out motorcoach to the Indian's small bus and travel the spiraling road for 2 minutes to the mesa top. Here we follow out Indian guide as we walk through the earthen streets, past adobe homes. We will be able to enter their old adobe church and there will be opportunities to purchase handcrafted items and home baked goods on the mesa top. Wear comfortable walking shoes, the mesa top is uneven rock and sand. Bring a hat, bottle of water and light jacket. Photography is limited; camera permits are $10 additional at the Pueblo, no video.
