Unique SOAR sensitivity parameters can be used to reduce weld failure modes. Here is a real example how:

It is known that variable clamping along the weld joint can result in workpiece temperature fluctuations and weld pool disturbances.

Solar collector tubes sometimes leak due to weld pool irregularities.

Automatic GTAW seam welder

A new weld procedure was developed with SOAR that was simply more robust. The workpiece temperature sensitivity parameter was significantly reduced (from 12 to 7). The figure below shows that the new procedure is less sensitive than the old procedure.
