Like many other corporations, Sandia has a history program to help preserve and promote a sense of institutional culture and identity. Sandia played a significant role in the history of post-World War II America, but maintained a low profile while doing so. The Sandia History Program exists to produce historical work and to interact with the community of professional historians in order to contribute to histories of the post-war period.
