VideoSAR

Sandia has developed highly advanced "VideoSAR" algorithms (holding a number of patents for VideoSAR) which enable revolutionary Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) in a radar sensor. VideoSAR offers continuous collection and processing of phase history data, allowing observation of slow-moving targets day or night and during inclement weather or atmospheric conditions. Time between images is user-selectable and independent of aperture length.

Eubank Gate and Traffic VideoSAR

This is VideoSAR footage of a gate at Kirtland Air Force Base. The video shows vehicle traffic moving through the gate in all motions and directions. The shadows moving along the road are always at the actual physical location of vehicles. As a vehicle stops the reflected energy of the vehicle falls on top of the shadow. Once the vehicle continues in motion the shadow is again visible. The lines moving across the screen are Doppler shifts caused by the moving vehicles.

IR-VideoSAR Comparison

This video displays the advantages of all weather, day or night Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) imagery. The video on the left is from Sandia’s VideoSAR system and the video on the right is of the same scene utilizing infrared video. Both of these videos came from the same aircraft and at precisely the same time.
