Funding Criteria
- Is the student 'SEERI' material?
- Is the research sufficiently radiation effects or pulsed-power oriented to be of value to the overall programs?
- Does the sponsorship help to build strong, long-term relationships among academics, faculty, and the technical line organization?
- Is the research cross-cutting so that pulsed power or radiation effects activities across the labs could benefit?
Funding Proposal Should Include
- Qualifications of the student and professor to conduct the research
- Description of how project benefits the student and furthers his/her career plans
- Proposed funding sources and durations
- Student curriculum vita/resume
- Contact information for student, professor, advisor, and Sandia staff
Funding Uses
- Sponsor entry of undergraduate students into graduate school via fellowships such as National Physical Sciences Consortium
- Professional development
- Conferences and off-site presentations
- Equipment
- Telecommute travel and equipment
- Short courses/lecture series
- Others determined on a case-by-case basis
