Facilities

The Sandia National Laboratories NMR Facility is comprised of two laboratories, housing a total of three high-field NMR spectrometers:

PETL: Bruker AVANCE III 600

IMRL: Bruker AVANCE III 400 (2016 install), Bruker AVANCE III 500

All three instruments have full broadband capability; the AVANCE 600 and AVANCE 400 also have solid-state capabilities.

The Facility houses a variety of solution- and solid-state probes, including:

  • 4 mm 1H-X, 7mm 1H-X MAS probes

  • 4 mm 1H-X-Y Triple resonance MAS probe

  • 2.5 mm 1H-X-Y Triple resonance MAS probe (600MHz)

  • 2.5 mm 19F-1H-X MAS probe (400 MHz)

  • 2.5 mm 1H-X MAS probe (600 MHz)

  • Wideline probes (400 and 600 MHz)

  • 5 mm, 10mm broadband solution probes with single gradients

  • 5 mm H/X inverse, single gradient solution probe

  • 5 mm TXI – triple gradient solution probe

  • 5 mm 203, 205Tl solution probe

  • 60 µL flow probe

  • 5 mm 19F/1H solution probe (600 MHz)

  • 5 mm DIFF30 probe with water-cooled 1250 G/cm gradients
  • 5 mm DIFF50 probe with water-cooled 3000 G/cm gradients

  • NEW 1.3mm ultrafast MAS probe (600MHz)
