The enterprise Component Information System (eCIS) is a Nuclear Weapons Complex
(NWC) desktop facility for finding and analyzing electrical,
electronic and electromechanical parts. eCIS enables
the design creation process to ensure that designs are
optimized for outsourcing and that supply chain constraints
are addressed before they reach manufacturing. It is
presently available from the web at four NWC sites:
Sandia National Laboratories (SNL) New Mexico and California
sites, Kansas City Plant (KCP), and Los Alamos National
Lab.
eCIS has three major capabilities:
- ExploreNet® (from i2) is a commercial package with parametric data and data book information on over 8 million commercial and military parts. It also provides analysis tools to compare parts, to find alternate parts, to view current and historical data sheets, to search for parts by technical parameters, and to find inventories, unit costs, and NWC cross-reference data.
- Sandia Parts Unified Data Source (SPUDS) contains models and reports on SNL and KCP parts. These include radiation test data, characterization reports, failure analyses, and model parameter sets to use in device and circuit simulation. All models and reports are full-text searchable.
- Links to various internet resources allow further research on associated parts, vendors, and part related topics. This capability includes links to military and industrial specifications, standards, and related publications, as well as links to research parts not currently in the NWC part number system. Previews of newly available items and manufacturer’s preliminary data are referenced.
