ChileCADTM is a generalized schematic capture tool for electrical circuits written in JavaTM. It was developed to give users desktop access to high-performance electrical modeling and simulation (HPEMS) tools on the network, such as ChileSPICETM and XyceTM. ChileCADTM uses graphical schematic capture and is similar to other products on the market such as PSpice® that are only PC-based. ChileCADTM was not developed to replace any of these products.
Some of the salient features in ChileCADTM include:
- The ability to open PSpice® 8.2 files and produce a graphic and netlist. The user may need to update the schematic in order to make the translation 100%.
- Access to a full set of functional models and the ability to import models and create your own model libraries. Models may be extracted from the model libraries in the Sandia Parts Unified Data Source (SPUDS) database, or as licensing permits, from PSpice® libraries.
- A symbol editor to allow users to create new symbols to be used on schematic diagrams.
- Equivalent features, functionality and robustness to other schematic capture tools (e.g., creation and management of sub-circuits typically used in a circuit design).
