This field-portable system combines a water sparging vessel with a chemical preconcentrator to trap volatile compounds, including disinfection by-products found in drinking water. Upon thermal release the chemicals are separated on a short chromatography column and detected using custom-coated Sandia SAW sensors. Detection limits meet EPA standards for tri-halomethanes.
