The Academic and Employability Skills Standards align Sandia’s training efforts in advanced manufacturing with the recommendations of the Manufacturing Skill Standards Council (MSSC). The MSSC is a committee formed through the National Coalition for Advanced Manufacturing (NACFAM) that has nationwide representation from industry and academia. Sandia, along with representatives from various New Mexico educational institutions, produced this set of standards to pave the way for future national assessment and certifications in advanced manufacturing.
The Academic and Employability Skills Standards list critical skills that are applicable to advanced manufacturing positions at Sandia. These skills standards provide a foundation for learning and training activities and establish hiring criteria for both student interns and employees at Sandia. Sandia encourages the use of these world-class standards to guide continuous education and training for current and future workers in advanced manufacturing.
